Dominic Stoop is head of the department of reproductive medicine of the university hospital Ghent and associate professor in reproductive medicine at the Ghent University.  As research coordinator in the centre, he coordinates both the fundamental and clinical research.  

After completing my medical training and OBGYN specialty training at the University of Ghent, Belgium in 2007, he joined the Centre for Reproductive Medicine of the Dutch speaking Free University of Brussels.  He there obtained my PhD under the promotorship of professor Paul Devroey in 2012 on research related to the  clinical applications of oocyte cryopreservation. 

In 2017, he joined the medical affairs team of the MSD.   First as regional and later global medical director fertility before returning to academia in 2019 at the department of reproductive medicine of the university hospital Ghent.  Dominic Stoop is author or co-author of over 70 scientific articles with an h-index of 21 and the editor of the academic book ‘Preventing Age Related Fertility Loss’ published by Springer in 2018.  He currently acts as president of the Belgian Society for Reproductive Medicine (BSRM) and as president of the college of Reproductive Medicine in Belgium.

Dominic Stoop est chef du département de médecine reproductive de l'hôpital universitaire de Ghent et professeur associé en médecine reproductive à l'université de Gand. En tant que coordinateur de recherche au sein du centre, il coordonne à la fois la recherche fondamentale et la recherche clinique.

Après avoir terminé sa formation médicale et sa spécialisation en obstétrique et gynécologie à l'université de Ghent, en Belgique, en 2007, il a rejoint le Centre de médecine reproductive de l'Université libre de Bruxelles, où l'on parle néerlandais. Il y a obtenu son doctorat sous la direction du professeur Paul Devroey en 2012, avec une thèse sur les applications cliniques de la cryoconservation des ovocytes.

En 2017, il a rejoint l'équipe des affaires médicales de MSD. Il a d'abord occupé le poste de directeur médical régional, puis mondial, avant de retourner dans le monde universitaire en 2019 au département de médecine reproductive de l'hôpital universitaire de Gand. Dominic Stoop est l'auteur ou le coauteur de plus de 70 articles scientifiques avec un indice h de 21 et l'éditeur du livre universitaire « Preventing Age Related Fertility Loss » publié par Springer en 2018. Il est actuellement président de la Société belge de médecine reproductive (BSRM) et président du Collège de médecine reproductive en Belgique.
